To 2025, HPPL has significantly invested in its energy business Hancock Energy has a full-time staff prospect for a Systems and Management accountant to join a rapidly growing organisation supporting oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia. The Systems & Management Accountant is responsible for optimising MYOB Acumatica and integrated reporting tools to drive efficiency across procure-to-pay processes, project accounting and financial reporting. In addition to systems ownership, the role plays a key part in delivering management, project and financial accounting outcomes, ensuring that once systems are established, they are leveraged to produce high-quality insights, reporting and commercial support to the business. This role combines ERP systems expertise with core accounting and analytical capability, supporting both continuous system improvement and hands-on financial and project accounting. Key Responsibilities:
- Systems & Process Optimisation including configuration, workflows and controls to improve procure-to-pay efficiency, data quality and reporting capability
- Developing and maintaining BI dashboards, analytical reports and management information using Acumatica’s native reporting tools and Power BI (or similar)
- Designing & building live Excel reports and templates using Velixo connected directly to Acumatica GL, project and transactional data
- Lead system upgrades, integrations, testing, troubleshooting, user training and documentation
- Continuously improving automation, reconciliation processes and reporting efficiency across finance
- Management & Financial Accounting activities including supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and variance analysis
- Producing timely and accurate management reporting packs, including analysis of financial performance and key business drivers
- Providing financial insights and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP system
- Partnering with finance, operations and project teams to translate business requirements into practical ERP, reporting and accounting solutions
- Act as a key link between finance and systems, ensuring that system capabilities align with accounting and reporting needs
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on both system usage and financial reporting outputs To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 6 years demonstrated experience in a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, ERP Analyst or similar role
- Experience supporting and improving ERP systems within a finance environment including upgrades, enhancements and integrations
- Experience improving procure-to-pay processes and finance workflows
- Experience maintaining data integrity and supporting strong internal control environments
- Demonstrated experience in management, financial and project reporting
- Experience working with finance, operations, procurement, and project stakeholders to deliver system and reporting improvements
- Qualified Accountant with current CA or CPA designation
- ERP systems certification advantageous (SAP, Acumatica or equivalent)
