About the role We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Budget Accountant – Technical Advisor to join our finance team. This is a key advisory role responsible for delivering expert financial guidance in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management. You will lead the preparation and review of complex budgets, ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and standards, and provide strategic insights that support organisational decision-making. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you will play an integral role in strengthening financial capability, improving processes, and driving sound financial outcomes across the organisation. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in budgeting, financial management, and reporting within a complex environment, along with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks. You will possess highly developed analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data, translating it into clear, practical advice for both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will be required to build effective working relationships, influence outcomes, and provide trusted technical advice in a dynamic and rapid-paced setting. Level 6, SOA, $126,659
- $149,012 pa (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation About You! To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.
- Considerable budget management experience in a complex and/or medium-large environment.
• Considerable experience developing, reviewing and implementing accounting policies, procedures and systems.
- Considerable knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and the Financial Management Act (FMA).
- Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting systems and data management.
- Highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to resolve problems, negotiate and consult with a range of stakeholders.
