Temporary Vacancy This position is a fixed term full-time opportunity for a period of six (6) months with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. About the Role DFES is seeking to employ an energetic and progressive fire engineering technician who can demonstrate a logical approach to the challenges of fire safety within the built environment. The successful applicant will be one that satisfies the essential job requirements, can think strategically, and shows good judgment, intelligence, and common sense. The Fire Engineering Technician provides skilled advice, expertise and engineering guidance in all matters of structural fire safety to support and enhance the operational expertise of DFES. The Fire Engineering Technician undertakes assessment of existing and proposed buildings and other infrastructure projects, under the guidance of the DFES Fire Engineers, whilst applying fire engineering concepts, relevant fire safety codes and other measures to ensure adequate standards of fire safety. To be successful in this position you will need to have well developed communication skills and be able to interact confidently with colleagues and clients to deliver advice, solutions, and projects effectively. You will work with the team of fire engineers, building fire safety officers, direct brigade alarm staff and will have contact with operational firefighters and other specialist officers.
