Occupational Therapist (Perth)

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist on a full-time fixed term contract of 6 months to provide service to our residential aged care sites north of the river and our transition care program in Innaloo. There is a possibility for other opportunities or contract extension at the end of the 6 month period. As an Occupational Therapist in Residential Aged Care, you will assess the client, determine individual capabilities, and set realistic goals, facilitating the achievement of these goals while optimising the client's functional performance in relation to activities of daily living, wellbeing, leisure pursuits and vocation/education. As the Occupational Therapist in Transition Care, you will be involved in multidisciplinary goal setting and intervention implementation to support clients in their restorative care journey. As the OT in TCP you will support clients to develop and build functional skills in key ADL and iADL areas to either support a safe discharge home or into a residential aged care facility. Strong commitment to providing, and the capability to deliver, safe high-quality care. Demonstrated experience and competency as an OT to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of people. Strong person-centred skills in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs including cognitive impairment, brain injury, and dementia. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation; Aged Care Act *****); and/or Disability Services Commission Standards *****). First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old (desirable; essential if providing services for Brightwater At Home clients). Current Western Australian 'C' Class Driver's Licence .
