Due to consistent growth, we are seeking a motivated and experienced consultant (8+ Years) to join our recognised Environmental Approvals, Closure & Management (EAC&M;) team based in Perth . The team delivers end‑to‑end project advisory, environmental approvals and regulatory compliance services —supporting projects from early pre‑feasibility and due diligence through impact assessment, permitting, operational compliance, closure and rehabilitation — delivering practical, high‑quality outcomes across the full project lifecycle to multiple sectors across Australia. We collaborate closely with our 23 in-house technical discipline teams to deliver comprehensive environmental service to clients across various sectors. Our Perth EAC&M; team are diverse, well-renowned, and work from our modern offices on Hay Street in Subiaco. The successful applicant will deliver large multidisciplinary projects in mining & resources, infrastructure, renewables and power, industrial and built environment. You will contribute to SLR’s growth and manage your own projects and will receive ongoing mentoring from industry experts in this endeavour. Responsibilities As part of our 70+ national Environmental Approvals, Closure, and Management (EAC&M;) team, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality environmental approvals and advisory services across a diverse project portfolio.
- Project Delivery & Ownership: Leading and contributing to the delivery of environmental approvals and management services across both standalone and multidisciplinary projects, taking ownership of your own workstreams and projects.
- Technical Advice and Client Outcomes: Providing clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused environmental advice to clients and internal teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and collaborating effectively across technical disciplines to support integrated project delivery.
- Quality & Reporting: Delivering high-quality, concise technical reports and documentation aligned with best practice and regulatory expectations.
- Business Development & Field Exposure: Supporting proposal preparation and contributing to business development initiatives, with occasional travel for site inspections and project-related activities. Skills and experience To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Qualifications & Experience: A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience (with experience in a commercial consulting environment)
- Consulting & Technical Capability: Strong experience delivering environmental approvals and management services, with a well-developed consulting mindset and understanding of client needs.
- Project & Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables across competing priorities, both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Communication & Reporting: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear, concise, and professional writing style.
- Professional Attributes and Work Rights: A proactive, adaptable, and self-motivated approach, with full Australian working rights and willingness to travel as required.
