About the role: AData Architectisasenior andspecialistrole within the DataDivers.io business.This rolepossessesICT technicalexpertiseas well asconsiderableexperienceinone or moreareas such asdata analysis,data engineering,datamanipulationand data visualisation. TheData Architectis responsible forcontributing to the design and management ofan organisation's datasystems andinfrastructure.Data Architectscreateblueprints for how data is collected, stored,organisedand accessed across the organisation.Activities theData Architect willundertake includemodelling,database design,integrationsanddatagovernance.Data Architectsuse their skills andexpertisetodesign and manage robust data architectures that align with organisational goals,therebyfacilitatinglasting sustainabilityfor theirclients through thedelivery ofpragmatic solution outcomes. This role worksat an enterprise level, engaging withtheclient’sExecutive and operationalleadstounderstandtheorganisation’sdata needs. The Data Architectassessesthequality of theorganisation’sdata,usingthe data toprovideclient insights and presentviews on how that insight can bring benefit to the client’sorganisation. Key Responsibilities: Data Architecture Design:
- Primarily responsible for designing the overall data architecture of an organization, including data models,data integration patterns,database structures, and data governance frameworks.
- Evaluate and selectappropriate datastorage, processing, and integrationsolutions (e.g., databases, data lakes,lakehouses). Strategic Planning:
- Undertakeplanning and present strategic roadmaps to addressfuture data needs, scalabilityrequirements, and integration ofnew technologies.
- Understand and align data architecture with overall enterprise architecture frameworks and business strategies. Modelling :
- Design and create data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) for data warehouses, data lakes,lakehouses,and databases.
- Usedata modelstorepresentthe data structure and relationships within systemsrepresentingbusiness processes and functional areas with the business.
- Developing scripts or applications for data manipulation, integration, or analysis.
- Analyseand optimisebusiness processes that rely on data for decision-making.
- Createand managedatabase schemas to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Applying techniques and tools to process and analyse large datasets, oftenleveragingbig data technologies. Data Governance:
- Establish data standards, policies, and best practices to ensure data integrity and security.
- Implement data governance best practices to ensure compliance.
- Maintain documentation of data sources, pipelines, and architecture.
- Understand and implement data governance, quality, and lifecycle management processes.
- Ensuredata security measures are in place to protect sensitive information andcomply withregulations. Collaboration :
- Work withvariousstakeholders, such as data scientists,analystsand othersto understand business requirements and align data architecture with organisational goals.
- Providingexpert advice in specific technologies relevant to data management and architecture.
