- $127,737 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023) This is a permanent full‑time position commencing Term 3, 2026 An appointment to Alkimos College presents an exciting opportunity to join the staff of an innovative, state‑of‑the‑art secondary college which is committed to building a culture of high performance and high care for students and staff. Located in the northern suburb of Alkimos with sweeping ocean views, Alkimos College opened in 2020 with our foundation Year 7 cohort, providing local intake area students with access to an exceptional secondary education in world‑class learning facilities. Stage 1 buildings include administration, lower school student services, library, gymnasium, fitness centre, food studios, cafeteria, Information Technology labs, technologies workshops, general classrooms, science laboratories, and nature play area. Shared oval and community facilities with the City of Wanneroo are available via the adjacent Halesworth Park precinct. Stage 2 (rolled out in 2024), includes a performing arts centre, lecture theatre, senior school student services centre, general classrooms, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) classroom and building and construction centre. Alkimos College is seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent, and enthusiastic Design and Technology (Woodwork/Metalwork) teacher, with excellent interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will ideally be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. The successful applicant will ideally be a positive and passionate teacher of Design Technologies, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant should use their professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Design Technologies curriculum, from the early and middle adolescent phases of learning, through to senior secondary courses. You will ideally be an enthusiastic adopter of a college wide instructional framework based on explicit teaching and instructional skills, strategies, and tactics. You will ideally be committed to personal and professional growth and embrace opportunities for collaboration. Experience in lower school woodwork, metalwork and senior school design and technology courses is highly desirable. Experience and/or interest in teaching Digital Technology at lower school level is highly desirable, if required. Graduates are welcomed to apply. Successful applicants will ideally demonstrate the ability to develop innovative classroom practices and utilise Information Communication Technology (ICT) to provide integrated, personalised, and authentic learning experiences for students. A key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, relevant and cater for differing student learning needs. Commitment to the college extra‑curricular activities (after‑school Academies) is highly desirable, as well as active promotion of the college motto, values and vision within the college and wider community.
