People & Culture Specialist: Onboarding & HRIS (Perth)
Description
Ready to kick-start your People & Culture career in a role where you’ll learn fast, contribute ideas, and see the impact of your work every day? Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, this role offers hands‑on exposure across the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to HR systems, reporting, compliance, training coordination, and payroll support. In other words, you won’t be stuck filing paperwork in the corner. Our workplace is a little different, too. We’re co‑located alongside our transitional housing, social housing, and aged care services, meaning you’ll see the real impact of our work every day. It’s not your typical quiet corporate office — it’s dynamic, human, and deeply connected to the community we support. This role is perfect for someone eager to build a long‑term career in the People & Culture space — someone who enjoys learning, brings initiative, and wants to be involved in more than just the admin side of HR. You’ll be supported, mentored, and given genuine opportunities to grow, with the potential to progress into a People & Culture Advisor role within the next 2–3 years. What you’ll be doing:
- Keeping the People & Culture wheels turning smoothly by supporting HR processes, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Jumping into the full employee journey — from recruitment and onboarding through to development, engagement, and offboarding
- Working closely with the Talent Manager to coordinate onboarding, induction, workshops, training programs, and learning initiatives that help our people thrive
- Working closely with the Payroll Specialist to support payroll administration, HRIS reporting, and payroll backup when needed
- Keeping HR systems, records, reporting, and documentation organised, accurate, and running like clockwork (your attention to detail will definitely come in handy here)
- Collaborating on People & Culture projects, sharing ideas, and helping create a positive employee experience across the organisation You’ll thrive in this position if you:
- Have at least 12 months’ experience in HR administration and/or a minimum Cert IV in Human Resources (or similar), Australian working rights, and confidence working with HR systems, contracts, and employee documentation.
- Secretly enjoy producing polished, beautifully organised work and spotting the tiny details others miss
- Bring initiative, curiosity, creativity, and good energy into the workplace
- Like finding smarter ways to do things (yes — AI is welcome here)
- Can take direction, think critically, and improve processes where it makes sense What’s in it for you?
- Pay: Market-competitive salary, plus NFP salary packaging giving you the potential to gain $18,550 in tax benefits
- Leave: 23 days annual leave, that’s 3 days more than the standard 4 weeks
- Perks: Trendy workwear, expand your experience by joining a consultation committee, see how your work impacts the people we support
- Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Career development: Training, accessible leaders, growth and advancement opportunities
