Senior Electrical Engineer (Perth)

About the role: Praxis has an opportunity for a proactive and talented Senior Electrical Engineer to work from our office at Level 20, 108 St Georges Tce, Perth on design and implementation projects at our 7 Goongarrie St, Bayswater workshop and site locations in the Goldfields, Pilbara, Northern Territory, and Queensland. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and Operations Manager to deliver projects from start to finish. This is a permanent role with the potential for career growth within the organisation. Key responsibilities:
- Project Management
- Liaise with Clients and Vendors.
- Plan the allocation of works, manage priorities, and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Design coordination, design direction, and ensure that deliverables are completed.
- Ensure quality and schedule targets are met.
- Ensure accurate and consistent timekeeping and timesheets.
- Engineering
- Lead all aspects of HV/LV/ELV design across processing plant and infrastructure projects.
- Develop project scopes of work.
- Produce engineering deliverables in line with typical Western Australian engineering design.
- Power system modelling in PowerFactory, ETAP, and SKM PowerTools.
- Microgrid modelling in Homer.
- Allocate work to team, clearly explain requirements and deadlines, review for quality.
- Work with designers to develop drawings.
- Maintain quality and compliance with industry and client standards.
- Ensure designs are constructable.
- Manage, mentor and support junior staff.
- Ensure open and transparent communication is always maintained.
- Assist with preparing reports and presentations.
- Prepare proposals and estimates.
- Implementation
- Coordinate between engineering, drafting, procurement, fabrication and site teams.
- Programming and testing of instruments, VSD's, and protection relays
- Liaise with workshop team
- Liaise with construction team
- Liaise with and be part of commissioning team
- Achieving successful outcomes for projects About you: You will have the following qualities:
- BEng Electrical Engineering
- Previous process plant design and site experience
- Able to take on site duties to suit project requirements
- Produces high quality work
