- Accounts Payable
- Process invoices received from vendors and suppliers.
- Verify invoice details, including quantities, prices, and terms.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely payment to vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of payables.
- Accounts Receivable
- Collaborate with project managers to generate and issue invoices to clients.
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Handle collections and resolve any discrepancies.
- Purchase Order Management
- Create purchase orders for procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely processing.
- Match purchase orders with invoices for accurate payment processing.
- Payroll and Reimbursement
- Process fortnightly payroll using Xero, including salary payments, tax deductions, and superannuation contributions.Handle employee expense reimbursements.
- Taxation and Bookkeeping
- Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit monthly IAS and quarterly BAS to Australian Tax Office.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax.
- Prepare and submit MyLeave.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes. It would be beneficial if you can from time to time assist with:
- Mobilisations
- Arrange medical checks, safety training, and induction sessions for staff prior to site deployment.
- Prepare and distribute mobilisation packs containing necessary information and equipment.
- Utilise client mobilisation systems to book and manage staff assignments.
- Issue rosters and schedules, ensuring explicit communication of timelines and expectations.
- Organize and schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for staff. Qualifications:
- Higher education in Accounting or Finance.
- Registered BAS Agent qualification
- Prior experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related roles, preferably in the construction or mining industry.
- 3 years of experience working in taxation in Australia.
- Familiarity with Xero, and project management platforms (Simpro).
- Accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
