The Opportunity Join us as a Shift Leading Hand where you will assist the leadership team in coordinating the day to day functions of the Bibra Lake Material Recycling Facility (MRF). In this role you will ensure the completion of operational tasks are in accordance with safety and environmental standards, customer expectations as well as completing maintenance tasks with various plant and equipment. This role will have a rotation of morning and evening shifts. What’s on offer

- Serve as the key point of contact between shift employees and the Shift Supervisor, coordinating all job tasks on shift and assisting with the effective and efficient running of the plant.
- Monitor team work performance, provide ongoing training and education to all employees, and support the development of a high performing and motivated team.
- Identify and report plant issues promptly, applying sound troubleshooting and problem solving skills to minimise operational disruptions.
- Ensure all employees comply with OHS&E; guidelines and Veolia safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe and compliant work environment at all times.
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships across the team, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills, team building and effective time management.
- Uphold a high level of work ethics, motivation and enthusiasm while observing the Employee Code of Conduct and demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. What you’ll need to be successful
- Minimum of 3 years of waste industry experience (desirable)
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand or similar
- Working knowledge of fixed plant operations
- Working at Heights ticket
- Confined Space ticket
- Forklift ticket – High risk licence
- C Class Drivers License
