What the role looks like In this role, you will oversee the delivery of compliance and reporting work across a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring jobs are completed accurately, efficiently and to a high standard. Responsibilities
- review financial statements, income tax returns, BASs and related compliance work
- manage workflow, priorities and deadlines across a portfolio of work
- support tax planning and internal technical review work where required
- collaborate with the Client Manager and senior leadership to ensure excellent client outcomes
- mentor and guide junior and intermediate accountants in both technical work and workflow discipline
- identify and implement improvements in workflow, systems and operational efficiency
- help maintain strong technical and compliance standards across the team Importantly, this role is ideal for someone who wants to step into leadership without needing to take on a personal client portfolio. The focus is on technical quality, workflow excellence, team development and operational contribution. About you You will likely be a strong fit if you have:
- 5+ years experience in public practice accounting
- strong technical capability across tax and business services
- solid experience reviewing tax returns, financial statements and BASs
- proven ability to manage workflow, priorities and deadlines across multiple jobs
- CA or CPA qualification
- experience mentoring or leading junior and intermediate team members
- strong working knowledge of Xero and modern practice management systems
