Auto Electrician (Open Pit) – International Applicants We are seeking skilled and experienced Auto Electricians (Auto Sparkies) from international locations to join our maintenance teams in large‑scale open‑pit mining operations. In this role, you will maintain, repair, and optimise the electrical and electronic systems on heavy mobile equipment. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong technical ability, a commitment to safety, and the resilience to work in demanding outdoor conditions. Key Responsibilities Carry out preventative, corrective, and breakdown electrical maintenance on open‑pit mobile equipment, including:
- Haul trucks
- Wheel loaders
- Excavators
- Graders
- Dozers
- Water carts and support vehicles Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, CAN‑bus, and auto‑electrical faults. Inspect, test, and replace wiring, sensors, alternators, starters, lighting systems, and control modules. Maintain and repair machine monitoring systems, onboard diagnostics, and safety systems. Service and troubleshoot air‑conditioning systems, battery systems, and charging circuits. Use diagnostic tools, schematics, scan equipment, and OEM software to identify and resolve issues. Complete accurate maintenance records and update CMMS systems. Work collaboratively with production and mechanical teams to ensure equipment reliability. Follow all open‑pit safety procedures, including isolation, parking protocols, and hazard identification. Skills & Experience Required
- Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician, Automotive Electrical Technician, or equivalent (internationally recognised).
- 3–5 years’ experience working on heavy mobile equipment, ideally in open‑pit or mining environments.
- Strong electrical, electronic, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work safely in large‑scale outdoor environments with exposure to heat, dust, and heavy traffic.
- Experience with OEM equipment such as CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, or similar is highly regarded.
- Robust communication skills and the ability to follow technical instructions. Additional Requirements for International Applicants

- Ability to pass medical and fitness assessments, drug and alcohol screening, and background checks.
- English language proficiency suitable for safety‑critical environments.
