- Full Time Branch: Financial Strategy & Planning Location: East Perth Closing Date: 4:00 PM POSITION OBJECTIVE This position manages the internal and external budget management framework, incorporating the Western Australia Police Force’s annual budget submission and mandatory budget reporting processes to government. Provides professional advice and assistance in the development of financial strategies to obtain the financial resources required to meet the agency’s strategic objectives, which includes performing cost benefit analysis, financial modelling and other costing exercises on a regular basis. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Business and financial analytical skills – Applying business and financial analysis techniques and methodologies. Gathering information and analysing current and emerging trends, issues, impacts, opportunities and options. Developing models, processes, standards and criteria to support budget management and corporate decision‑making processes.
- Experience in financial and budget management or a related field in a medium to large size organisation – Understanding financial forecasting and financial modelling; monitoring budget and cash management performance; ensuring funding and baseline requirements are anticipated; achieving budget cycle and budget management reporting deadlines; understanding the state government’s budget framework and the impact of developments implemented and emerging budget issues in recent years. The CV must include the names and contact details of two referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work‑Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
