Due to considerable growth, we would like to meet with passionate Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists who are looking to make their mark in 2026 and beyond! You will be part of our accomplished Geotechnical and Tunneling section and will work alongside our established team of Geotechnical technical experts, assisting in bidding and delivering successful projects. Your technical expertise will be deployed across projects in the transport, energy, water, mining, property and government sectors to continue the growth of an already successful and reputable capability. Geotechnical & Tunnels Across Australia WSP employs a 400+ strong team of geotechnical, geological and tunneling consultants. Our WA Geotechnical team is the state’s largest geotechnical team and consists of passionate and experienced geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists and geoscientists, operating from offices in Perth CBD. You will also work alongside industry leading in-house Perth based capabilities in geophysics, environmental services and in-house geotechnical laboratories. As part of the national Geotechnical and Tunnels team, you have the best of both worlds – solving clients' technical challenges (large and small) on geotechnically led projects, as well as the ability to work on major projects with Australia’s largest multi-disciplinary firms in the transport, mining and energy sectors. What you’ll do Provide technical advice on complex geotechnical issues to clients and internal staff and deliver best practice consulting services; manage and deliver geotechnical field investigations across a wide range of sectors; participate in industry groups as part of maintaining high an industry profile; manage, analyse and carry out geotechnical reporting for projects; provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/high priority safety hazards; participate in training activities, mentor and transfer knowledge to other geotechnical engineers; help prepare tenders, proposals and reports for clients; and guide, participate and support stakeholder engagement activities. A full position description is available on request, but a snapshot of your day to day will look like (but not be limited to):
- Provide technical advice on complex geotechnical issues to clients and internal staff and deliver best practice consulting services;
- Managing and delivering geotechnical field investigations across a wide range of sectors;
- Participate in industry groups as part of maintaining high an industry profile;
- Manage, analyse and carry out geotechnical reporting for projects;
- Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/ eliminating high priority safety hazards;
- Participate in training activities, mentor and transfer knowledge to other geotechnical engineers;
- Help prepare tenders, proposals and reports for clients;
- Guide, participate and support stakeholder engagement activities; About you
- A civil engineering or engineering geology degree;
- Australian Citizenship preferred due to potential project and client requirements;
- Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, with experience in geotechnical consulting considered favourably;
- Experience in undertaking and managing geotechnical field investigations for small to large size geotechnical projects, including soil and rock logging;
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation / review of written technical reports and client communications;
- Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design including rock/soil/structure interaction;
- A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
- A willingness to travel regionally and nationally for up to 14 days at a time; In addition, you will bring the following skills and attributes
