Are you a Registered Psychologist/Clinical Psychology Registrar/Clinical Psychologist with a passion for your work, knowledgeable about early developmental delay and autism, experienced in working with children/families, and energized by the thought of working in the only integrated therapy and research clinic in Australia? CliniKids sits within The Kids Research Institute, providing diverse, focused therapies for children from six months to nine years with early developmental delay or autism, and their families. The CliniKids team comprises world‑class researchers and exceptional clinicians who are passionate about translating research into practice. Established in 2019, the clinic unites research and therapy supports delivered through an integrated team of speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and clinical psychologists. Responsibilities Clinical
- Provide evidence‑based early childhood interventions in a clinic and community setting.
- Undertake psychological assessments as therapeutically indicated (interviews, psychometric assessments, behavioural observations).
- Where applicable, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on goals, treatment plans, and clinical management.
- Support other disciplines in psychological matters through training and advice.
- Liaise with and provide education to the child’s support partners (teachers, day‑care, family members) in psychological matters.
- Demonstrate strong formulation skills and ability to explain rationale for treatment plans. Learning/Supervision/Research
- Keep up to date with current autism research related to diagnosis and intervention.
- Participate in individual and peer supervision.
- Bring reflective skills to peer supervision and professional development opportunities.
- Engage in our clinical processes to monitor, evaluate, and develop your clinical skills. Administration
- Maintain client records in accordance with established clinic procedures.
- Participate in continuous processes to monitor, evaluate and develop clinician skills.
- Work closely with administrators who manage your diary bookings. Based in Subiaco and Joondalup, this is a full‑time or part‑time opportunity at 0.6 – 1 FTE for a period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension. About You
- Clinical experience and passion for working with young children and families with autism or developmental delay, with strong knowledge of autism and its impact on individuals and systems.
- Understanding and application of evidence‑based autism interventions, with sound knowledge of a range of evidence‑based approaches.
- Demonstrated skills in psychological assessment, therapy and interview techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients, families and key stakeholders, with proven success engaging both teams and families in therapy.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team, upholding ethical standards, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and being flexible to work across both Subiaco and Joondalup sites.
- Familiarity with National Guidelines for supporting autistic children in Australia.
- Current full AHPRA registration as a psychologist, with WWCC, Medicare provider number and NDIA provider eligibility, a valid driver’s licence, and a cleared criminal record screening. Desirable
- Experience in being a keyworker/key contact for families.
- Experience delivering NDIS funded supports.
- Minimum three years clinical experience in autism early intervention.
- Board approved supervisor, Psychology Board of Australia.
