Vacation Student - Design Engineer (Perth)

Opportunity This role is part of our 12-week paid summer Vacation Program, which runs between November 2026 and February 2027. Fugro’s Vacation Program is a key recruitment strategy for our future Graduate offers and provides a platform for participants to gain hands‑on experience and demonstrate their ability, motivation, and attitude to our team. Job Description As a Vacation Student – Design Engineer you will be involved in project design/structural engineering design, located in West Perth, supporting our teams with:
- Design of steel structures, subsea installation aids, or similar
- Performing design calculations
- Assisting the project engineering team as required About Fugro We are Fugro, the world’s leading geo‑data specialist focused on mapping, modeling, and monitoring data about the earth’s surface and the structures built upon it. We are based in West Perth and operate in the Marine Asset Integrity (MAI) area, giving you exposure to projects in Subsea Inspection, Repair, Maintenance and Marine Operations. - Mechanical Engineering
- Civil / Structural Engineering
- Naval Architecture
- Similar engineering fields Requirements
- Proficient in SolidWorks or other 3D modelling software
- In your penultimate year of your degree
- Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
- Good verbal communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
- Hands‑on practical experience (e.g., motorsports team, trade experience, hobbyist) would be an advantage Benefits
