Overview Part-Time Bookkeeper (0.5 FTE) – Payroll and Accounts Payable Focus At Phat Brew Club, we’re brewing more than just beer – we’re brewing a Culture of Good Times. We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage our core financial operations. This is a critical role responsible for the timely, accurate, and compliant execution of our end-to-end payroll and accounts payable functions. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and supporting financial control. Classification: Part-Time (0.5 FTE) Hours: 19 hours per week Salary: $42,500
- $45,000 per annum (equivalent to $85,000
- $90,000 full-time) As we always strive to build a Culture of Valuable Times, we'd love to have you face-to-face with our team as often as possible; this role is based primarily at our West Perth head office, working minimum 6 hour shifts every Monday & Tuesday, with the remaining hours worked flexibly as agreed with the business (with the option to work some hours at our new Hillarys location). We've also just expanded into our exciting 2nd location at Hillarys Boat Harbour. Key Responsibilities As our Bookkeeper, your primary focus will be on the following operational duties:
- End-to-End Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for all employees, ensuring correct calculation of wages, deductions, superannuation, and tax withholdings in strict compliance with legislative requirements.
- Accounts Payable Management: Manage all Accounts Payable functions, including processing supplier invoices, verifying expense reports, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely vendor payments.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Complete daily reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit cards. Assist in the completion and submission of government reports (e.g., BAS, PAYG, superannuation).
- Month-End Support: Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial reports.
- Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, payroll files, and accounts payable ledger details. Skills and Experience Essential Criteria – You MUST have:
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll and Accounts Payable functions.
- Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of current payroll legislation, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
- Work Ethic: Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively. Highly Desirable Criteria – Highly regarded experience includes:
- Software Proficiency: Strong experience with Xero accounting software.
- Time & Attendance: Experience administering a time and attendance system such as Deputy .
- Award Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant hospitality industry awards, specifically the Hospitality Industry (General) Award and Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award.
- Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field (e.g., Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping). Why Join Phat Brew Club?
