We are recruiting for enthusiastic and passionate support workers who are highly knowledgeable ,experienced and above all compassionate staff.
You will be highly supported in your role with the opportunity for professional supervision and ongoing support.
**The Role**
The role of Disability Support Worker will include and is not limited to: Supporting participants with activities of daily living, Assisting with personal care, Providing domestic assistance (house cleaning, washing, tidying up), Assisting with meal preparation, Providing companionship and emotional support, Transporting client to appointments and/or recreational activities (if required)
**To be successful in this position you will require.**
- Minimum of Cert IV in Disability/Aged Care/Community or Mental Health
- MINIMUM THREE YEARS Experience in working with people with disabilities, challenging behaviour, and complex physical disabilities.
- Flexibility and availability are essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts; morning, day, afternoon, evening, night and weekends
- Solid Communication skills
- Experience supporting people with a disability in a professional capacity.
- Able to develop meal plan and activity plan for participant.
- Must have case management skills.
- Experience with supporting clients who have Positive Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices.
- Must be able to support high intensity participants, who require complex support.
- Knowledge of NDIS Quality and compliance requirements and guidelines and an understanding of the National Standards for Disability

**Essential for this Role**
- 3 -5 years of experience in working as a disability support worker within a residential setting or experience in providing outreach support to participants' rights in Australia
- A minimum Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mental Health/ Disability/ Welfare or Community services.
- Current National Police Check (within 12 months validity), (or be prepared to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR certification (or be prepared to obtain)
- A current driver’s license.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and interpersonal, combined with a proactive and hands-on attitude
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge in working with people with disability
- Be comfortable working independently as well as an active team member
- Must hold a Working with Vulnerable People Card or the NDIS Worker Screening Card /be prepared to obtain
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $35.15
- $43.23 per hour
