Maintenance Fitter (City of West Torrens)

Opportunity Our Lysaght business is looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join the Maintenance team based in Novar Gardens SA. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects. You will join a cross-functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues are a priority. This role is a Monday to Friday day shift position, with additional overtime opportunities available. Standard work hours are from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. What Will You Do?
- Interact with maintenance CMMS
- Assess job risks and implement control measures
- Isolate equipment and perform corrective maintenance on the machines
- Inspect equipment and identify faults, taking necessary actions to repair these
- Respond to and resolve machine breakdowns with a sense of urgency
- Plan and coordinate shutdowns for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- Continually seek opportunities to improve our maintenance strategies More About You
- Experience in a heavy industrial workplace
- Demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including machine rebuilds and improvements
- Lathe and milling machine experience
- Exposure to maintenance management systems and basic computer skills
