About the Role

This is a unique chance to work with your AAT-certified dog, fostering essential skills like communication, empathy, and resilience in students (K-12).

Key Responsibilities: Facilitate engaging, curriculum-based sessions with your therapy dog in schools. Build meaningful connections with students, schools, and caregivers. Manage diverse learning needs, personalities, and abilities. Maintain progress notes and report on student outcomes. Ensure your therapy dog's well-being and ethical care during all sessions.

What We're Looking For: Any tertiary qualification in education, allied health, or a related field is required. A minimum of 1+ years of experience in education, allied health, or a related field is required. Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) Certification (essential) or willingness to attain before the start of term 3, 2026. Your own well-behaved and well-socialised dog between 12 months and 8 years old. Location guide (current demand): Melbourne's west, including Point Cook, Sunshine, Braybrook, Laverton, Altona and surrounding suburbs. You'll need to be comfortable travelling to schools across this area (including up to ~1 hour to your first school location). Robust communication and classroom management skills. Current First Aid Certificate, Driver's Licence, Working With Children Check, and Police Check. Availability for a minimum of one full day per week is required. Australian permanent residency is required for this position.
