Horticulture Traineeship Port Augusta

Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for a Horticulture Trainee to work with our valued Host Employer, the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden, in Port Augusta. This is a full time position.

As a trainee, you will undertake a Certificate III in Horticulture, combining practical, on-the-job experience with formal training to gain a nationally recognised qualification in horticulture.

As a Horticulture Trainee, you may: Train in the various forms of propagation and aftercare of plants for the Botanic Garden Assist with plant sales Identify and control pests and weeds Recognise and select plants Operate irrigation systems Prune and maintain trees, hedges, and plants, and cultivate soil for planting Use gardening tools, equipment and machinery Apply environmentally sustainable work practices

Position Requirements Hold a current driver’s licence (preferred) Pass a pre-employment medical, inclusive of drug & alcohol testing Have a excellent work ethic, and have a willingness to learn and develop current skills Enjoy working outdoors and with garden tools and equipment Be punctual, have valuable organisation skills, and be reliable Be able to use initiative and work well in a team Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3qpq0w
