Hire Controller- BCH PA (Port Augusta)

Big Chief Hire is seeking a motivated and organised Hire Controller to join our team, playing a key role in coordinating equipment hire and supporting customers with their needs while ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of our busy operations in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment. About the Role As a Hire Controller, you’ll be the heartbeat of our hire operations—building strong customer relationships, managing bookings, and ensuring equipment is delivered on time and ready for action. You’ll maximise every sales opportunity through your day‑to‑day customer interactions and keep operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end‑to‑end hire process, including bookings, scheduling, dispatch and returns.
- Provide customers with equipment availability and tailored hire solutions.
- Coordinate transport, delivery and collection of machinery and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of all equipment—whether in branch, on hire, or in service/repair.
- Monitor and manage hire agreements, contracts, and related documentation. About You You’re someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys being a pivotal point of contact. You bring:
- Previous experience in truck or machinery hire (highly desirable).
- Strong multitasking and time‑management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication—confident, transparent and customer‑focused.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in documentation.
- Experience with hire management systems or the ability to learn quickly.
- A proactive mindset and strong problem‑solving ability.
