Retail Cafe Manager (Albert Park)

**About Us** Xpress Catering is a vibrant local community café located within 2 busy trade schools and 1 high school. We’re known for our great coffee, all-day breakfast, fresh rapid meals, and excellent customer service. We also provide corporate catering services. Our cafés operate in a fast-paced environments where efficiency and quality go hand in hand.

**The Role** We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Café Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Xpress Catering.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and manage the café’s menu offerings, product range, and stock levels to ensure quality, variety, and profitability.
- Oversee purchasing decisions, supplier relationships, and marketing initiatives to drive sales and maintain consistent standards.
- Set and review pricing strategies that align with costs, customer expectations, and business goals.
- Develop and implement promotional campaigns to increase customer engagement and grow café and catering sales.
- Provide hands-on service when required — assisting customers, recommending products, and ensuring an exceptional experience.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and financial transactions to support reporting and budgeting.
- Prepare and manage the café’s budgets, monitoring performance against financial targets.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to deliver high-quality service and uphold café standards.
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive work environment that meets all food safety and occupational health requirements.

**About You**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hospitality management role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage a busy, fast-paced service environment.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Barista skills and/or hospitality qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Must have a working with children certificate.
- Must have a RSA
