As a Pastry Cook at Melbourne Bakehouse in Port Melbourne, VIC, you will play a crucial role in crafting delectable pastries and desserts that delight our customers. Reporting to the Head Pastry Cook, this full-time position involves working in a fast-paced, dynamic bakery environment, utilising your exceptional culinary skills to contribute to the bakery's success. What you'll be doing
- Preparing and executing a wide range of high-quality pastries, cakes, and desserts to the bakery's exacting standards
- Developing new recipes and introducing innovative pastry items to the bakery's menu
- Ensuring all pastry and dessert items are prepared, presented, and delivered to customers with consistency and efficiency
- Maintaining a clean and organised workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene protocols
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, contributing to their development
- Collaborating with the Head Pastry Cook to optimise pastry production and the bakery's overall operations What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role within a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
- Formal qualifications in Baking, Patisserie, or Culinary Arts, with a strong understanding of pastry techniques and trends
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning and delicious pastries
- Outstanding time management and multitasking abilities to thrive in a high-pressure environment
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
