About the Role
Certis Security is seeking experienced Security Officers to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing top-tier security services, ensuring the safety and protection of our clients' premises, assets, and people. This is a full time position, with on-site duties at various locations across Melbourne.
The Role:Control Room Operator:
- Monitor and operate security systems including CCTV, Fire Control Panels, and Access Control systems.
- Conduct rover duties and manage coordination of access control systems to ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct regular audits, checks, and tests as required during shifts.
- Complete administrative tasks such as reviewing incident reports, hazard reports, and client permits.
- Respond to security incidents, threats, or emergencies and take appropriate action.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S;) policies and identify and manage risks.
- Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and staff.
- Conduct locking/unlocking of areas as necessary, as authorized by control room or premises management.
Rover Duties:
- Perform scheduled patrols across the premises, including internal areas, plant rooms, external grounds, and car parks, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor employee, contractor, and visitor entry and departure to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
- Maintain a visible presence in high-traffic areas, especially the main lobby, during business hours.
- Conduct morning unlocks and evening lockups of premises as outlined in SOPs.
- Report any discrepancies, hazards, faults, or non-compliance issues observed during patrols.
- Respond to and manage any security incidents or threats encountered on-site.
- Complete required administrative tasks such as reviewing handovers, incident reports, and updating relevant documentation.
- Assist with WH&S; concerns and report any issues encountered while on patrol.
