- Retail & fuel discounts, extra leave & genuine career growth across Adbri The role: We are currently seeking an experienced Concrete and Aggregates Laboratory Supervisor to lead our Port Melbourne laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on laboratory professional looking to combine their technical expertise with people leadership in a growing operation. You will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations while remaining actively involved in concrete and aggregate testing activities. You’ll ensure testing programs are completed accurately and on time, maintain compliance requirements, and act as a key technical resource for internal and external stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the operation while working within a supportive and technically focused team! Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of laboratory personnel.
- Allocate testing work and monitor workloads to ensure testing deadlines are met.
- Perform concrete and aggregate testing in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
- Prepare, measure, grind and test concrete cylinders for compressive strength and density analysis.
- Review testing results and ensure accurate reporting to customers.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration programs and associated records.
- Support compliance with NATA accreditation requirements and assist with audit preparation.
- Conduct site visits, inspections and investigations as required.
- Assist with technical enquiries, customer issues and quality investigations.
- Work closely with Operations, Sales and Technical teams to support customer outcomes.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example. Hours: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2.30pm + every second Saturday. About You: You are a hands-on laboratory professional who enjoys balancing technical work with leadership responsibilities. You have strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to work autonomously while supporting others. - Experience working within a laboratory environment and relevant testing standards.
- 2+ years supervisory or team-leading experience.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with operational teams, customers and stakeholders.
- A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Experience with NATA accredited laboratories will be highly regarded.
- Certificate III in Laboratory Operations or NATA Signatory experience will be advantageous but is not essential. Benefits:
