Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services
- Data Centres / Health) We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our friendly Melbourne Mechanical team. The role is suitable for a qualified candidate with significant HVAC design experience, ideally working on Data Centres & Health projects.

Responsibilities

Develop HVAC engineering, heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation

Plan and manage projects from initial planning, concept and brief, through to installation and commissioning

Provide oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery

Represent Stantec externally to clients, managing relationships and generating repeat business

Collaborate with architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient and cost‑effective solutions

Manage HVAC design projects in accordance with code and company quality standards

Delegate tasks to junior engineers, provide feedback and contribute to their development

Contribute to the overall strategy and development of the Mechanical team and company culture

Qualifications

Mechanical Engineer degree or equivalent

7+ years of HVAC design engineering experience in consulting (open to shorter or longer experience)

Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards

Working knowledge of Revit and other relevant software

Experience planning and managing successful projects

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines

Positive, can‑do attitude and strong work ethic

Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities
