Role Overview This is a highly commercial Finance Business Partner role supporting a large and complex portfolio of operational contracts, engineering activities and major projects.
Partnering closely with project managers, engineering leaders, commercial teams and operational stakeholders, you will provide financial insight, forecasting, reporting and commercial support across a broad portfolio.
The role sits in a fast-paced project and operational environment where finance is deeply embedded in the business. While responsible for budgeting, forecasting and reporting, the focus is on understanding project performance, supporting strategic decision-making and driving financially sustainable outcomes across a complex national portfolio.
Key Responsibilities Include
Partner with operational and project stakeholders to support financial performance across a diverse portfolio of projects and services Deliver budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting across operational and project activities Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying risks, trends and improvement opportunities Support commercial analysis and financial modelling for new business opportunities and strategic initiatives Provide financial insight to support operational decision-making and long-term planning Assist with cost control, financial governance and performance improvement initiatives across the portfolio Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve reporting, processes and financial visibility Support senior finance leadership with ad hoc commercial analysis, business cases and strategic projects Build robust relationships across finance, operations and project teams to drive commercially focused outcomes Why This Role Stands Out

5+ years’ experience within commercial finance, management accounting or project finance environments Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance reporting Demonstrated ability to partner with operational or non-finance stakeholders Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel and financial modelling skills Experience within infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, construction, transport or project-based environments highly regarded CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion
