About the role Working closely with the Café Manager, you will support day-to-day operations, lead the team from the front, and ensure every customer enjoys a high-quality café experience. This is a quick-paced, hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a team environment and enjoys leading by example. Duties
- Support daily café operations including opening/closing, service flow, and team coordination
- Lead the floor during service – driving energy, efficiency, and customer experience
- Manage on-shift labour, stock control, and ordering
- Train, mentor, and develop team members
- Maintain strong coffee quality and oversee the coffee station
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and operational standards are met
- Assist with recruitment and building a positive team culture Skill & experience
- Previous experience as a Supervisor, Head Barista, or Assistant Manager
- Proven ability to lead teams of 5–20 staff in a fast-paced environment
- Strong, hands-on leadership style with a positive attitude
- Passion for customer service and team development
- Coffee experience preferred (but not essential)
- Comfortable with admin tasks such as ordering, stocktakes, and labour management
- Availability across weekdays and weekends (with 1 weekend day off)
