Role Overview Working within a commercial kitchen facility, Community Meals Team Members play a key role in supporting community members as they take part in meal preparation within a safe, hygienic and healthy environment. The role assists with preparing and serving food under the guidance and support of the Catering Team Leader. An ideal role for those who enjoy preparing meals, coaching others and working as a team alongside community members. Responsibilities
- Meal preparation and service: coordinate community members ensuring they have all the ingredients and utensils needed for the meal preparation activity.
- Set up and clean up: oversee and assist community members with initial set up, clearing of tables, pack up, wash up and waste disposal.
- Manage stocks and storage: ensure food stocks are replenished, within use by dates, and all food items are stored and labelled correctly. Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in food preparation, handling and service.
- Relevant food handling qualifications as required by local council authorities.
- Interest in working with community members who are seeking connection and social support. Background Check Requirements Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation. Where an applicant has disclosable history, the selection process includes a fair assessment and a risk management approach. Collection of personal information is handled per our privacy and confidentiality policies.
