- Based In Portland, Victoria Full time ongoing, Long-Term Position Opportunity to Join an Industry Leader UGL delivers engineering, construction and maintenance services across the oil & gas, power, renewables, resources, water, defence and telecommunications sectors. We operate in a fast‐paced, ever‐evolving environment and partner with some of Australia’s largest asset owners. **About the role** We are seeking an experienced **Electrical Supervisor** to oversee a portfolio of capital upgrades across an Alumina Smelter in Portland, Victoria. This frontline leadership role provides day‐to‐day direction across electrical and multidiscipline teams, ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with operational, engineering and compliance requirements. You will coordinate field‐based activities, manage contractors, support shutdown and project delivery, and work closely with Operations, Engineering and HSE teams to maintain a high‐performance culture onsite. **Key Responsibilities**
* Provide daily leadership and supervision for project crews, including contractors.
* Ensure all work is executed safely and in accordance with permits, procedures and electrical compliance standards.
* Oversee scheduling, resource planning and coordination of labour for planned and emergent work.
* Monitor job progress, identify constraints and implement corrective actions to maintain productivity.
* Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations and HSE teams to resolve issues and optimise plant performance.
* Conduct field verifications, toolbox talks, safety interactions and quality inspections.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency and work quality.
* Prepare and submit progress updates and performance reporting for internal and external stakeholders. **About You**
* Trade qualifications as an Electrician or relevant electrical discipline (Instrumentation highly regarded).
* Solid background in electrical works within mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial facilities (bauxite/alumina desirable).
* Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in a Supervisory or Senior Electrical role leading field teams.
* Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong commitment to safety, team engagement and performance outcomes.
* Solid understanding of electrical permitting, risk management and working within live operational environments.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary groups.
