Description
Pizza Boccone is seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join our kitchen team at our Italian restaurant located in Potts Point, NSW 2011. Pizza Boccone specialises in authentic Italian cuisine, with a strong focus on wood-fired pizzas, slow-proofed pizza dough, handmade pasta, fresh toppings, sauces, and traditional Italian dishes. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality Italian meals, maintaining kitchen standards, supporting menu planning, and ensuring consistent food quality across all stages of preparation and presentation. Key Duties and Responsibilities The Chef will be responsible for:
- Planning and developing menus in line with Pizza Boccone’s Italian food concept, including wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta, sauces, entrees, and seasonal specials.
- Estimating food and labour costs and assisting with ordering food supplies, including flour, cheese, meats, seafood, vegetables, herbs, and other Italian cooking ingredients.
- Preparing and cooking a range of Italian dishes, including pizza dough, pizza toppings, pasta dishes, sauces, entrees, and other menu items.
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency, freshness, and customer satisfaction.
- Managing the preparation of pizza dough, including proofing, portioning, stretching, and preparing dough for wood-fired pizza service.
- Ensuring pizzas, pasta dishes, and other meals are cooked and presented according to Pizza Boccone’s standards.
- Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff to maintain smooth service and resolve operational issues.
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising kitchen staff on food preparation, portion control, cooking methods, and presentation standards.
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness regulations in accordance with Australian food safety standards.
- Assisting with stock control, food storage, freezing, and preservation of food items where required.
- Selecting, training, and guiding kitchen staff where required to maintain consistent food preparation and service standards.
- Supporting the restaurant during busy service periods by working efficiently in a fast-paced Italian kitchen setting. Pay: $75,000.00 – $77,000.00 per year Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3rrjpz
