Electrical Engineer
- Power Electronics / Electromagnetic Field We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical/Electronics Engineer to join an innovative engineering team working on advanced motor and power electronics technologies. This role will involve hands-on engineering, experimentation, simulation, and problem-solving across cutting-edge electrical systems, with a robust focus on PCB design, axial flux motors, and power electronics. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys designing, innovating, and building, while also contributing to research and development in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and develop electrical systems relating to PCB axial flux motors, including on-the-job learning and continuous technical development
- Read, interpret, and apply technical research papers and engineering documentation
- Design and conduct experiments by identifying independent, dependent, and controlled variables to validate engineering outcomes
- Design, troubleshoot, and improve electronic PCB boards
- Work independently on key project elements while also collaborating effectively within a broader engineering team
- Communicate technical findings clearly through written and verbal communication
- Simulate lithium-ion battery systems and electric motors using PSIM
- Support the design, testing, and optimisation of power electronics systems Technical Experience & Skills Essential
- Proven experience as an Electrical or Electronic Engineer with relevant industry experience
- Strong understanding of power electronics, including:
- 3-phase inverters
- DC/DC converters
- Electric motor systems (ideally axial flux motors)
- Strong knowledge of electromagnetic circuits
- Experience designing and troubleshooting PCB boards
- Ability to work autonomously on aspects of projects and take ownership of deliverables
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Software Experience
- SolidWorks 2022 or later
- Altium Designer (PCB design)
- ANSYS (PCB design and simulation)
- PSIM for electrical system simulation Desirable
- Experience with lithium-ion battery systems
- Exposure to solar technologies or renewable energy systems
