Landscape Gardener (Preston)

The Tree Company is delivering a relatively new business in Tree Planting & Maintenance. The Tree Planting & Maintenance division operates out of the Preston depot, specialising in tree maintenance, tree watering and tree planting projects for various local councils and commercial clients.

We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, dynamic Tree Maintenance Officer in Preston to join our growing team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Abiding by all TTC Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Working Method Statements (SWMS).
- Carrying out tree planting and maintenance in accordance with Australian Standard (AS2303-2018 Tree stock for landscape use).
- Driving TTC vehicles in accordance with policies and procedures as required.
- Operating plant and equipment in accordance with TTC policies and procedures, SWMS, manuals, and with due care and attention.
- Performing routine and unplanned maintenance as required.
- Setup site signage, cones, and exclusion zones.
- Various environmental maintenance tasks such as watering, re-mulching, re-staking, fertilizing, weed control, formative pruning, greenwell/stake removal
- Tidying up the job site upon job completion.
- Contributing to team responsibilities, duties, and a cohesive working environment.
- Communicating with clients, employees, and members of the public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Minimizing the impact on surrounding vegetation and wildlife by planning suitable routes in/out of worksites.
- Preparing soil beds and designated plots for sowing and establishing new plant growth
- Shaping and improving the top layer of soil, and establishing grass or plant arrangements through seeding
- Developing landscape design concepts and layout, including selection of plant varieties and construction finishes, and organising the sequence and timing of in office landscaping works
- Creating earth and ground structures to facilitate planting and landscaped environment

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Current medium or heavy rigid truck driver's license (or willing to obtain)
- White Card
- Cert 3 in Horticulture (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- A minimum of 1 year full time experience in landscape gardening or related field is preferred.
