We’re looking for an experienced Senior Advisor, Digital Communications and Experience to lead our digital strategy and channels, including our website, social media and e-newsletters. You’ll guide a small team, drive continuous improvement, and help ensure our digital experience is accessible, engaging and genuinely useful for our diverse community. About the Role The Senior Advisor, Digital Communications and Experience plays a key role in shaping how Council connects with the community across its digital channels, delivering accessible, engaging and user-focused online experiences. You’ll lead the development and delivery of Council’s digital communications strategy, overseeing channels including the website, social media, intranet and e-newsletters. This includes guiding a small team, improving user experience and accessibility, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement, and ensuring strong governance and consistency across Council’s digital presence. This is a role for someone who enjoys both strategy and delivery
- a person who can think holistically about digital experience while also providing practical advice, support and solutions to teams across the organisation. Skills & Experience We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong experience in digital communications, including websites, social media and e-newsletters
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver digital strategies and improve user experience
- Experience using data, analytics and insights to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
- Strong content design and storytelling skills, with a focus on clear, engaging and accessible communication
- Experience managing multiple projects and working with a wide range of stakeholders
- An understanding of digital accessibility, governance and risk management
- Knowledge of digital channel optimisation (e.g. SEO, structure, performance)
- The ability to provide expert advice, training and support to others across an organisation
