- Lead, mentor, and support educators within the learning environment to deliver high-quality education and care practices aligned with the service philosophy, Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and National Quality Framework (NQF).
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and oversee engaging educational programs that promote children's learning, development, wellbeing, creativity, and agency.
- Guide and support educators in documenting children's learning, critical reflection processes, assessment practices, and curriculum planning to ensure meaningful and responsive programs.
- Foster positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with children, families, educators, and community stakeholders to strengthen engagement and continuity of learning.
- Support children's social and emotional development through intentional teaching, positive behaviour guidance, co-regulation strategies, and role modelling.
- Maintain oversight of daily room operations, routines, environments, and experiences, ensuring safety, inclusion, quality practice, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and support the implementation of Child Safe Standards, ensuring children's rights, voices, wellbeing, and safety remain central to all decision-making and practices.
- Lead room meetings, contribute to leadership discussions, and support continuous improvement initiatives, Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) goals, and service-wide priorities.
- Support educator onboarding, coaching, professional development, and performance conversations to build team capability and confidence.
- Observe, assess, and evaluate children's learning and development, ensuring documentation is meaningful, compliant, and informs future planning.
- Ensure high standards of health, hygiene, supervision, and risk management practices are consistently maintained across the learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with leadership to support occupancy, family engagement, transitions, inclusion support, and the effective operation of the service.
- Promote a culture of reflective practice, continuous improvement, professionalism, and educational excellence across the team. Skills and experience
- Available for full-time work between 6:30am and 6:30pm
- Minimum 1 years of experience in a lead position in an Early Childhood Education and Care environment (2 years or more preferred)
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (completed or more than 50% completed)
- Current Employee Working with Children Check
- Current Level 2 First Aid, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis management
- Mandatory Reporting and Child Protection Training (completed)
- Child Safety Training (completed)
- Food Safety Certification (current)
