Position Overview The Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Allied Health Assistants to join our community and residential teams. TACP is a unique and client-focused program that supports older adults in their journey toward reablement, helping them regain independence and achieve personal goals. As an Allied Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering therapy and care either in clients’ homes or within our residential care setting. Your responsibilities will include implementing home exercise programs, assisting with self‑care retraining, supporting community access, and transporting clients to medical appointments—all under the guidance of Allied Health Professionals and Team Leaders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older people, working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The position requires strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Please note: A current influenza (flu) vaccination is a mandatory requirement for appointment to this position. Candidate Profile You are a motivated and reliable Allied Health Assistant who is committed to providing high‑quality care and supporting positive health outcomes for clients and their families. You are confident working under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional and can follow direction while contributing independently to therapy programs and service delivery. You bring strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and support the smooth operation of the service. You enjoy working in a team setting and communicate effectively with clients, carers and colleagues. You are adaptable and value working across a diverse and growing community, contributing to a service that supports clients in a region known for its vibrant lifestyle, accessibility and mix of metropolitan and natural environments. Selection Criteria
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or relevant qualification or minimum 12 months full‑time equivalent relevant experience with commitment to undertake the Certificate IV in AHA within 12 month period.
- Describe a time when you were delegated a task by a supervising Allied Health Professional that required you to manage competing priorities. How did you ensure you stayed within your scope of practice, met deadlines, and sought assistance when needed?
- In your previous roles, describe how you have adapted your communication style to effectively interact with both clinical staff and patients. Also share how you have applied Work Health and Safety principles in a healthcare setting.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C‑Class driver's licence (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C‑class licence (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C‑class (P1 or P2 included) licence within three months of appointment.
