Departing from Darling Harbour, Cruise Sydney provides lunch and dinner cruises as well as private charter events.

**About the role**

Due to internal promotion, we are looking for an Operations Manager to oversee daily operations of our Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney (JBCS) business. Reporting to the Executive General Manager
- Attractions & Dining (A&D;) and responsible for successful implementation of the JBCS Business Plan, responsibilities include:

- Lead, coach & mentor the JBCS team, with a strong focus on developing the Vessel Master, Cruise Director and Chef’s capability as a leadership team
- Overall accountability for the delivery of Health & Safety, Customer Experience, Financial Performance and Staff Engagement initiatives
- Ensure that opportunities are maximised to achieve budget including P&L; and cost management, effective rostering and identifying cost control measures and efficiencies
- Drive the safety culture, ensuring all incidents and hazards are reported and investigated in a timely manner, leading monthly management safety committee meetings, and manage safety and compliance requirements to the relevant statutory and regulatory bodies (e.g. AMSA, NSW liquor)
- Work with Sales & Marketing and MICE & Business Development Managers to ensure there is a strong pipeline of revenue and occupancy levels for the business, and to develop and implement growth strategies including but not limited to new products, packaging and special events

Within this role you will collaborate closely with the wider A&D; and Journey Beyond teams to leverage expertise, and deliver on divisional/group priorities. The emphasis will be on continuous improvement to ensure the highest quality guest service and experience whilst promoting a culture where staff are both engaged and motivated.

**About You**

To thrive in this role you will have a motivating leadership style capable of creating a high-performance culture and enabling your team to understand the key drivers of business success.
- Proven experience in an operations role within a marine / hospitality / tourism environment (preferably 5+ years)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop people and align them to the business priorities
- Strong commercial acumen with a good understanding of financials and budgets
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with strong relationship building attributes and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism
- Resilient, proactive problem solver, able to work effectively under pressure and in a quick-paced setting with a drive for continuous improvement
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage competing priorities
- Flexibility to work across weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required
- Understanding of Marine regulations and Maritime Safety preferred
