Sandvik Mining | Heatherbrae, NSW Job Type: Full-time About the Opportunity As a result of the continued growth and success of Sandvik’s Heatherbrae Production, Research & Development (PRD) Workshop, we are excited to introduce two newly created Workshop Production Supervisor roles, each leading a team of around 10-15 employees. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership position within a progressive, high‑performing operation. As Workshop Production Supervisor, you will play a key role in driving day‑to‑day workshop performance, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead, mentor, and coordinate a dedicated team, manage resources effectively, and champion quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workflow and deliver outstanding results for our customers. Working in a agile, fast‑paced environment, you will balance competing priorities, uphold strong safety compliance, and foster a positive, collaborative team culture. Responsibilities
- Act in full compliance with Sandvik’s Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Vision to achieve Zero Harm.
- Act in accordance with the Sandvik Leadership Model, promoting accountability, collaboration, and integrity in all leadership actions.
- Monitor team performance to ensure adherence to service standards, behavioural expectations, and professional development goals.
- Supervise day‑to‑day workshop operations to ensure production schedules, targets, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Manage workflow prioritisation, resource allocation, and job scheduling to optimise operational efficiency and on‑time delivery.
- Train and monitor teams to ensure service and technical standards are consistently integrated into all customer‑facing interactions.
- Carry out repairs, maintenance and fault diagnostics work on components and rock drills.
- Coordination of warranty claims as per SMC’s warranty policies. About you We are seeking a Newcastle‑based candidate with an Australian‑recognised Mechanical Trade Certification and proven experience in the mining industry. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a clear customer‑focused mindset. The ability to stay motivated, meet performance targets, and lead a collaborative, high‑performing team is essential. Intermediate computer skills and a Class C manual driver’s licence are required. To be eligible for this role, you must have the right to live and work in Australia.
