About the Role Total Fire Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Services Designer to join our Engineering and Design Division based in Heatherbrae. This role will focus on the design and delivery of compliant fire protection systems, primarily across commercial and residential projects. You will be responsible for designing, analysing and coordinating fire protection systems, ensuring alignment with applicable codes, standards and project requirements. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, clients and other stakeholders to deliver high quality design outcomes. Key responsibilities include
- Designing wet fire systems, including hydrants, hose reels and sprinkler systems
- Preparing detailed drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and or Revit
- Interpreting architectural, mechanical and structural plans to integrate fire systems
- Conducting site visits and surveys to inform design solutions
- Liaising with stakeholders to resolve design issues and ensure project alignment
- Assisting with technical documentation, reports and design calculations
- Participating in design reviews and providing technical guidance
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and regulations

- Minimum FPAA Accredited Fire Systems Designer or equivalent accepted NER / PE accreditation
- Fire Hydrant and Fire Hose Reel Systems Level 3(Advanced)
- Fire Sprinkler Systems Level 4 (Specialist)
- DCD accreditation (wet fire) will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience designing fire protection systems, with a preference for commercial and residential projects
- Demonstrated competency in AutoCAD and or Revit
- Working knowledge of applicable Australian Standards, NCC and fire engineering requirements
- Strong ability to interpret fire engineering reports and construction documentation
- Experience with dry fire systems is advantageous
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail with sound problem solving ability
