Lab Technician | Brandy Hill Quarry (Seaham)

Heidelberg Materials Australia is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join its Aggregates team at the NATA‑accredited laboratory at Brandy Hill Quarry in the Hunter Region. The role involves both laboratory and field work. You will sample and test quarry materials in line with Australian Standards, calibrate and maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with NATA requirements and documentation standards. The position requires a safety‑focused, customer‑mindset technician with strong technical skills. Responsibilities
- Conduct testing of quarry materials, including aggregates and soils, in accordance with Australian Standards.
- Perform sampling in laboratory and field environments.
- Carry out equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Maintain NATA requirements and documentation standards.
- Support the broader technical team with quality and compliance activities. Qualifications
- Qualification in construction materials testing, laboratory techniques, or a related discipline (highly regarded).
- Previous experience in construction materials testing or in a NATA‑accredited laboratory.
- Strong understanding of testing standards and quality systems, or willingness to learn.
- Excellent commitment to health and safety.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
- High level of attention to detail and customer focus.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Availability for weekends and overtime as required. What we offer
