Full-Time Pastry Chef (Rhodes)

About the Role: We are a young, vibrant, busy up-to-date Australian café/restaurant in Rhodes passionate about delivering a premium range of foods, exceptional desserts, pastries, and baked goods to our loyal customers. Due to strong growth and ongoing demand in Sydney's hospitality scene, we're seeking a talented, creative Pastry Chef to lead our pastry section and elevate our offerings. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and execute a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, viennoiserie, and plated sweets
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, and dessert products in accordance with daily production and service requirements.
- Decorate and finish cakes and desserts with attention to detail and presentation standards
- Develop seasonal dessert menus and innovative specials in collaboration with the head chef/owner
- Maintain high standards of quality, consistency, food safety, and hygiene in accordance with Australian standards
- Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and manage cost control for the pastry section
- Supervise and train junior staff or kitchen assistants in pastry preparation techniques
- Operate and maintain pastry equipment such as mixers, ovens, and refrigeration units
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen or café environment to meet service demands What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Cook (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Strong technical skills in cakes, pastries, desserts, and general pastry production
- High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on presentation and quality
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for pastry and desserts
