Working with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and tier-one contractors, we deliver high-quality projects from ground-up installations to ongoing maintenance of traffic lights, ITS, and other critical infrastructure. Civil Construction Estimator: Central Infrastructure Sydney is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This is a critical position within our business and plays a key role in the successful delivery of our civil construction projects across the Sydney region. We are looking for a technically strong estimator who can accurately price, assess, and manage a broad range of civil construction activities while working closely with our operations and project delivery teams. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects
- Actively develop new business opportunities in the civil inductry through face-to-face client meetings and relationship building.
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project requirements.
- Ensure all submissions meet high standards and comply with tender criteria.
- Request and review subcontractor quotes, negotiating pricing agreements when necessary.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Prepare detailed methodologies and construction schedules
- Support tender submissions and project handovers to delivery teams Key Capabilities & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of local experience in civil estimating
- Relevant degree or certification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency required for this position.
- Previous experience working with or for Transport for NSW (TfNSW)
- Experience delivering traffic signals, road works & civil infrastructure projects
- Proven experience estimating civil construction works, including:
- Kerb and gutter
- Pram ramps
- Guardrail installation
- Asphalt road construction and repairs
- Concrete road construction and repairs
- Storm water
- ITS
- Traffic Signals
- Line Marking
- Vegetation works
- Signage
- Footpath restorations (Sandstone, Bluestone Pavers etc)
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and local authority requirements
- Familiarity with TfNSW specifications, standards, and processes
- Familiarity with TfNSW maintenance contracts with major service providers (SRAP projects).
- Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and cost estimation.
- Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong technical knowledge of civil construction methods and materials
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to assess a wide range of civil scopes and project requirements
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills
