This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026

East Waikiki Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Education teacher to join our dynamic team. Located in the coastal suburb of Cooloongup, approximately 45km south of Perth, our school is proudly part of the vibrant Rockingham community. Since opening in 1987 with 185 students, East Waikiki PS has grown into a well‐established school with approximately 385 students and a stable, experienced staff committed to high quality teaching and learning.

Staff work within a connected whole‐school approach using evidence‐based programs, explicit teaching practices, consistent lesson design, and regular assessment to monitor student progress. Our school implements a range of high‐impact literacy and numeracy programs including structured synthetic phonics, DIBELS assessment, Talk for Writing, Letters and Sounds, whole‐school spelling and reading routines, and evidence‐based numeracy practices. Data is used regularly to inform planning, identify student needs, and provide targeted intervention and extension.

Professional learning, coaching, and team-oriented planning are highly valued, with staff engaging in ongoing development to strengthen student outcomes and build a culture of reflective practice, high expectations, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an aspirational and innovative Early Childhood teacher to join our collaborative ECE team, with the capacity or desire to take on a Team Leader role. The successful applicant will ideally be a reflective and data‐informed educator who values engaging lesson design, strong collaboration, and evidence‐based practice to support positive student outcomes.

Responsibilities

* Plan, review, and respond to student data in learning teams.
* Implement agreed whole‐school programs and maintain high expectations for all students.
* Design engaging, explicit literacy and numeracy lessons for early childhood education.
* Support the social, emotional, and academic development of every child.
* Display effective behaviour management practices and create a caring, engaging, and orderly learning environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen student outcomes and contribute to a culture of reflective practice.

Qualifications

* Strong understanding of the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Standards (NQS).
* Commitment to differentiation, inclusive education, and meeting the needs of diverse learners.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
* Capacity or desire to take on a Team Leader role.
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Completed WA Working with Children Check before the appointment.
