Farm Consultant - Canterbury Dairy (Ashburton)

Lactus Agribusiness Ltd – Ashburton, South Island Lactus Agribusiness is a young, fast growing agricultural service company, with a great local reputation, operating in Canterbury dairy farming. Due to rapid growth there is the opportunity for another consultant to continue the momentum. Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant tertiary degree, ideally in Agricultural Science / Commerce, for a base understanding of the technical and financial aspects of dairy farming.
- A level of practical experience in NZ dairy (ideally Canterbury) and a good understanding of profit drivers and challenges faced by farmers.
- The ability to establish and maintain great relationships with farming clients.
- The ability to work autonomously.
- Experience as a farm consultant or in relevant agribusiness roles is preferred.
- Competency with Microsoft Excel. Tasks & Responsibilities
- You will be assisted in building and managing a book of dairy farm advisory clients, based in the Canterbury area.
- You will help farmers to achieve their goals, whether it be technical farm systems consultancy, financial analysis or strategic planning.
- The majority of the role will be on‑farm consultancy visits, although this is balanced with report writing, attending industry events and professional development.
- You can work from home, and organise your own schedule – allowing a excellent work/life balance.
- Vehicle, laptop and phone are essential tools, and can be provided.
