Opportunity MinRes is seeking highly experienced Senior Environmental Advisors to ensure compliance and support the continuity of our Kens Bore mine site operation. We are looking for proactive individuals who are committed to environmental excellence and making a tangible impact. You will play an integral role collaborating with operational teams to drive environmental awareness and ensure the consistent delivery of environmental compliance activities. Our Site Senior Environmental Advisors work on a regular 8/6 roster. Become part of a team dedicated to upholding environmental standards and ensuring sustainable project success. Key Responsibilities
- Promote environmental awareness and good environmental practices in all aspects of work.
- Conduct all work as per MinRes Safety procedures and systems.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and environmental management system (EMS) audits.
- Development and maintenance of schedules and planning tools to address the EMS and Strategic Framework.
- Provide compliance advice to Site teams. Review proposed site activities, assess risks, and approve Land Activity Permits to ensure compliance.
- Implement new approvals and amendment conditions including documenting in INX and assigning responsibilities.
- Monitor environmental compliance, store and analyse data, and compare results against approval triggers and limits.
- Track and report compliance with all approval requirements, escalating non‑compliances and incidents as per procedures.
- Plan and conduct environmental inspections of work areas, ensuring ongoing adherence to standards.
- Liaise and coordinate with consultants and contractors, ensuring effective communication and data sharing.
- Contribute environmental insight to mine planning, including short-term and quarterly updates.
- Review project documentation for compliance with EPBC/EPA/DWER/DMIRS policies and guidelines.
- Supervise annual biological surveys and facilitate site training and awareness programmes.
- Attend and contribute to site team pre-starts, return to work sessions, and management meetings.
- Roll out EMS initiatives and MinRes systems across site teams, fostering cross‑functional engagement with environmental risk frameworks. What is required?
- A bachelor’s degree within Environmental Science/Engineering or similar discipline
- Extensive environmental management experience in an operational mining or resources industry
- Good understanding of environmental legislation EPA act, guidelines and standards
- Understanding of project/operational environmental risk
- Contractor management and onboarding experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams at all levels
- Problem solver and mentor. Fast thinker that is systematic, engaging, and thrives on change.
