Description
YOUR DESIGNS WON'T END UP IN A DRAWER. Here they get fabricated, printed, painted and then installed, and seen on flagship retail fit-outs, landmark commercial spaces, and projects for some of Australia's most recognised brands. If you've got solid signage experience, an eye for technical detail, and you're ready to work on projects that are actually worth putting in your portfolio, read on. WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING Day to day, you'll be working across a mix of live client projects, taking briefs, developing concepts, and getting artwork to production-ready standard. The work is varied: architectural wayfinding, brand identity applications, large-format campaigns, bespoke fabrication pieces. You'll work closely with the production side of the business, which means your files need to be right. If you understand how signs are actually made, substrates, tolerances, and fixing methods, that knowledge will show up quickly, and you'll be valued for it. Experience with technical drawings or shop drawings is a genuine advantage here, not just a nice-to-have. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of graphic design experience in signage, large-format print, or a related built workplace field.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and InDesign skills and confidence producing print-ready, production-spec files.
- You understand materials, print processes, and what actually happens after a file leaves your desk.
- Technical drawing or CAD exposure is a real bonus. We build things, and we need designers who get that.
- Detail-oriented -Errors in signage are expensive and visible. You catch things before they become problems.
- You can manage your own workload across multiple live jobs without needing to be chased.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- 6 month contract / part time options considered. WHAT YOU'LL GET OUT OF IT
- Work on complex, high-profile projects with real creative and technical challenges, not production-line volume work.
- See your work made and installed. There's something satisfying about that which a screen-only role doesn't give you.
- A close-knit studio where your input matters and you're not buried under layers of approval.
- Competitive salary based on your experience. We're not going to waste your time if we're not aligned. HOW TO APPLY Send your CV and portfolio (or a link to recent work) to: Subject: Graphic Designer – [Your Name] No portfolio, no consideration. We review everything personally and will come back to shortlisted candidates quickly. Recruitment agencies, thanks, but we've got this one. Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3r1s34
