**The Opportunity**
An opportunity has become available for a **Compliance Officer **within the VENTORA Group, reporting directly to our Chief Legal Officer the purpose of the role will to be ensure the group adheres to all relevant regulations and company policies. In consultation with the Chief Legal Officer, this role will implement a comprehensive compliance framework overseeing areas such as contract management, supplier due diligence, and risk mitigation strategies.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust compliance framework
- Monitor and ensure adherence to mandatory reporting
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential suppliers
- Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Australian building codes, industry standards, and procurement regulations
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure all purchases comply with established standards
- Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on procurement compliance procedures
- Maintain, update and roll out of template agreements in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders
- Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team and external law firms regarding corporate secretarial matters
- Review, draft and/or develop non-complex legal documents (e.g. Non-Disclosure Agreements) and communications independently
- Independently handle legal and/or factual research as required
- Assist with the management of legal issues on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer
**About You**
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in compliance type role
- Strong understanding of Australian compliance regulations and best practices
- Strong understanding of ILPA, Modern Slavery, FSC Certification and Climate related financial disclosures
- Prior In-house paralegal and compliance (preferred)
- Tertiary qualification in Law (preferred)
- Relevant knowledge of legal principles and sound legal advisory skills
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with the business and cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
