About the role
Are you an experienced finance business partner with a passion for driving business success through being a strategic advisor and providing financial insights? Join us as a Finance Business Partner, where you'll be at the forefront of supporting the People and Operations portfolio to make informed financial decisions that drive performance and growth.
As the Finance Business Partner for People and Operations you will provide strategic and value-added services to Executive Group members and their teams, being a trusted advisor. Partnering with the Director of Financial Performance and Partnering, you will drive change management efforts, ensuring successful implementation of new financial strategies.
This is a high impact role where you will have the opportunity to support on projects as needed, working with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
You will be part of Group Finance and will be responsible for providing a broad range of financial services to support the University’s core mission of teaching and research. Group Finance is organised into the following functional areas: Finance Shared Services, Financial Operations, Financial Performance and Business Partnering and Financial Control, Tax and Treasury.
This is a full time, fixed term contract ending early May 2027.
What will you do- Work closely with key internal stakeholders to understand their business needs, objectives, and strategic direction, ensuring you deliver financial insights that align with their goals.- Use your commercial acumen to analyse complex financial data and deliver actionable insights to business unit leaders, helping them navigate financial decisions and maximise performance.- Partner with business units to develop and critically evaluate annual budgets and forecasts and long-term financial plans.- Prepare in-depth monthly financial analyses, highlighting key insights, risks, and opportunities, and present them to business leaders to drive performance.- Drive key activities and projects with business leaders, ensuring alignment with service delivery models.- Actively contribute to the enhancement of financial processes, identifying areas for efficiency and effectiveness.- Perform ad-hoc financial modelling and cost-benefit analysis for both new and existing initiatives, enabling informed decision-making.- Regularly review financial performance, risks, and opportunities, of the People and Operations portfolio offering strategic recommendations.- Serve as the go-to expert for stakeholders on complex finance-related issues, providing clear guidance and resolution on escalations.
